An advert will appear in the Weekend Australian on Saturday, 23 May 2009 calling for applicants for the intern positions available in South Australian hospitals for 2010.

The PMCSA will send out an information pack to all SA final year medical students.

An on-line application will be available from this website from 23 May 2009, the closing date for application is 19 June 2009.

Once you have submitted your application an acknowledgement will appear to confirm that it has been submitted

 


Offers


First Round Match - 20 July 2009


First round match apply to:


  • South Australian graduates who are permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand; and Graduates of other medical faculties in Australia/New Zealand who are permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand who completed year 12 at a South Australian secondary school.

If South Australia has more positions available than South Australian graduate applicants (who are permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand) and graduates of other medical faculties in Australia/New Zealand who completed year 12 at a South Australian secondary school applicants (who are permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand), match notifications will be sent out to:


  • Graduates of other medical faculties in Australia/New Zealand (who are permanents residents of Australia/New Zealand).

Match notifications will be posted on 20 July 2009 with the match to be accepted or declined by 31 July 2009


Please note: Each applicant will be matched once only.

 


Subsequent Matching - 5 August 2009


Subsequent matching will take place on a fortnightly basis from 5 August 2009 as positions become available.


Matching will take place in the following order:


  1. Graduates of other medical faculties in Australia/New Zealand who are permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand.

  2. South Australian graduates who are not permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand for their internship.

  3. Graduates of other medical faculties in Australia/New Zealand who are not permanent residents of Australia/New Zealand but who are permitted to remain in Australia/New Zealand for their internship.

  4. Where positions are vacant at the end of the above allocation process, offers will be made to overseas trained doctors from the AMC/JMO database.

Please note:


Please provide the relevant documentation with your application:


  1. All applicants must provide a copy of their Curriculum Vitae (no more than 4 pages) which includes a paragraph outlining their Career Objectives/Goals.

  2. Permanent Residents of Australia/New Zealand and international students not studying at a South Australian University are required to attach a copy of their academic transcript for the 18 months prior to this application.

  3. If you are an international student you must provide a copy of your visa. Please note:  International students are only eligible to apply if they are not sponsored to return to the country of sponsorship or if they have any limitations on their visa that does not allow them to continue to work in Australia. 

  4. If you are applying for a 'Couple Application' please be sure to upload a jointly signed letter on both applications stating that you are seeking a joint placement on.

  5. If you are applying for 'Special Consideration' please upload a letter of support from the Dean of the Medical School at your University.
